The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, in cooperation with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, launched an initiative to issue professional cards for translators.

The program aims to improve and regulate the business environment, enhance the competitiveness of translation firms, and distinguish legitimate businesses through the issuance of professional cards.The cards will include the translator’s institutional data, license number, and expiration date.The initiative stems from a cooperation agreement signed by H.E. Dr. Saleh bin Saeed Musan, Undersecretary for Trade and Industry, and H.E. Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.The Chamber will design a special program for issuing the cards and provide the printing device, covering all associated financial costs.Professional cards for translators will enhance the efficiency of the process of organizing institutions specialized in the field of translation to regulate the labour market and create a suitable environment for employing job seekers in such specializations; it will play a vital role in encouraging cooperation with relevant authorities
