PSA marks International Women’s Day with inspiring sessions – The Peninsula

Doha: The Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) organised inspiring sessions for female employees under the theme “You are the Shining Beacon of Homeland” to celebrate International Women’s Day, observed annually on March 8.

As part of the meeting, PSA hosted the preacher Badriya Al Yaqout to participate with the female employees in a panel discussion about her experiences during her long career as a social and educational activist who took part in many youth conferences inside and outside the country.

Meanwhile, Haya Al Maadidi talked about aspects of her work as the Executive Director of the Family Court, a member of the Justice Development Initiative and the Manager of Central Electronic Archiving Project.

It is worth noting that the percentage of female employees in PSA has exceeded 60 percent of total employees, a percentage that stems from the Qatar National Vision 2030, which in the social development pillar emphasised the importance of building effective public institutions that contribute to enhancing women’s capacities and empowering them to participate fully in the political and economic spheres.

At the level of the State of Qatar, the Cabinet includes three female ministers. According to the latest statistics, females make up 74 percent of the teaching and administrative staff
