Qatar Chamber explores ways to boost commercial & trade ties with Malta

Qatar Chamber’s First Vice-Chairman Mr. Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Towar Al Kuwari has discussed the ways to strengthen economic and trading ties with Malta’s Minister for Finance and Employment Mr. Clyde Caruana.

According to the statement, both parties explored the means of enhancing cooperation between Qatari and Maltese companies as well as the investment opportunities available on both sides.

Mr. Al Kuwari has emphasized the importance of promoting cooperation relations with Malta in the economic and commercial fields, saying that despite the strong relations between Qatar and Malta, trade exchange “is still below the level of ambitions.”

According to Mr. Al Kuwari, the Qatar-Malta trade exchange stood at about $31 million (QR113 million) in 2020. He further remarked on the importance of exchanging visits between the business sectors of the two countries and learning about the investment climate and opportunities available in both countries.

Mr. Al Kuwari pointed out that Qatar Chamber is encouraging Qatari businessmen to explore the investment climate in Malta and establish investment projects that would result in the development of trade exchange between the two countries.
