Saudi Arabia’s NCID & PepsiCo unite to empower food sector workforce

US-based leading food and beverage company PepsiCo has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Industrial Development (NCID) to strengthen the Kingdom’s food sector workforce by increasing skills and opportunities through knowledge transfer and localization.

In line with the goals of Vision 2030 as well as the NCID and PepsiCo business plans, the alliance will help to develop a highly-skilled workforce that will contribute to an effective and flexible food system.

The MoU will also accelerate strategic goals to provide locally manufactured products in the Kingdom. Further, it follows PepsiCo’s “Proudly Saudi” campaign, one of the largest campaigns implemented by the company in the region, aimed at emphasizing its commitment to the market.

PepsiCo currently employs over 8,000 individuals in Saudi Arabia and has been successful in increasing the Saudization rate by more than 43 percent.
