Dubai Chamber of Commerce records 55% membership growth in April

UAE - Mubasher: Dubai Chamber of Commerce has recorded a 55.4% year-on-year (YoY) rise in the number of new member companies to 3,056 in April 2022, raising the total number of new member companies to 300,000.

The value of members' exports and re-exports jumped by 16.7% to AED 20.2 billion in April 2022 from AED 17.3 billion in April 2021, according to a press release on Monday.

The Chamber issued 57,704 certificates of origin last month, 8.2% higher than 2021.

The Chairman of Dubai Chambers, Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, said: "Dubai’s status as an international hub that connects economic decision-makers, investors, and experts reflects the emirate’s pioneering role in establishing an optimised trade and investment climate that stimulates business growth and development."

Al Ghurair added: "We are now in the process of developing and launching several new initiatives designed to improve ease of doing business in Dubai, remove trade barriers and enable businesses in Dubai to tap into a wealth of growth opportunities in the promising market, while expanding our efforts to attract multinational companies and high-potential startups from abroad."
