UAE’s Tradeling & Alibaba Cloud unite to foster cross-border trade in MENA

UAE’s largest eMarketplace, Tradeling has partnered with China-based cloud computing company, Alibaba Cloud to explore cross-border trade and boost the digital economy in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Mr. Phillip Liu, General Manager of the Middle East and Africa, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence and Mr. Marius Ciavola, CEO of Tradeling at Expo 2020 Dubai, during Alibaba Cloud Day. The partnership comes at a time when the business-to-business (B2B) eCommerce market in the region is expected to reach $49 billion by the end of 2022.

The collaboration offers an attractive opportunity to China-based sellers who will be able to list their products on Tradeling’s platform to fulfill local demand. Further, MENA-based sellers and manufacturers will get the chance to expand their reach beyond the region and enter the global market by listing their products on the online marketplace of Alibaba.
