Emirates expands cargo fleet with addition of a new Boeing 777-F – Arabian Business

Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo arm of the Dubai carrier, has expanded its fleet, with addition of a latest Boeing 777-F on Tuesday.

The addition of the brand new freighter, A6-EFU, will take Emirates’ cargo fleet size to 11 Boeing 777 Fs.

The airline said one of its cargo aircraft – A6-EFG – went back to its lessor last week.

Emirates SkyCargo also announced an expansion in its cargo operations to China with an additional four freighter flights every week

The new freighter plans come amid the cargo industry witnessing a massive growth in recent years.

From this week, it will serve Shanghai with six direct flights, Beijing with two and Guangzhou with four, adding more than 400 tonnes of cargo to and from China, the airline said.

Plans are also afoot to increase frequencies to Hanoi and Sydney with direct services.

Additional frequencies to Nairobi are also earmarked to be part of a freighter multi-stop route from DWC to Eldoret International Airport in Kenya.

The flight will then hop to Nairobi, before heading north to Maastricht, Netherlands and then to Zaragoza, Spain before the 777F returns home to DWC.
