Bahrain Polytechnic Launches Pilot English and Math Bridging Programme for Final Year High School Students

Bahrain Polytechnic has recently launched its Pilot English and Math Bridging programme for final year students in five technical and vocational secondary schools in Bahrain. The programme was launched with an aim to develop students’ skills in English and mathematics to raise their level to meet the entry requirements of Bahrain Polytechnic. The programme was launched as part of the Polytechnic’s 2023-2026 strategic plan to deliver high quality applied education for students which is in line with national ambitions.

In its first phase, the Bridging Programme attracted 228 students, from Nasser Vocational Training Center (NVTC), Al-Jabiriya Secondary Technical School, Jidhafs Secondary Technical School, Sh. Abdulla bin Isa Al-Khalifa Secondary Technical School, and Sh. Khalifa bin Salman Institute of Technology. The students were subjected to an initial assessment at the start of the programme, whereas a final assessment will be conducted by the end of the programme to assess their performance and progress.

Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, Bahrain Polytechnic’s CEO, explained: “The Bridging Programme is introduced under the framework of the Polytechnic’s Strategic Plan 2023-2026, that is in line with the Bahrain 2030 Vision, to enhance educational opportunities through upskilling and reskilling programmes.
