Bahrain Polytechnic Students Present Simulation and AI-Based Projects to Bahrain Airport Company and Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture

By utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS) Technology, Bahrain Polytechnic Engineering and ICT students presented two Cloud Innovation Centre (CIC) projects initially developed to provide smart solutions for Bahrain Airport Company and the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture.

Bahrain Polytechnic, in partnership with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) and Amazon Web Services, have launched the CIC in 2020 to provide an opportunity to collaborate with other public sector organizations on their most pressing challenges, and enable students to solve these challenges using the technology and expertise of AWS.

The first project, Takhata ( (تخطى, addressed challenges shared by Bahrain Airport Company and developed an advanced simulation and machine learning-based system which enhances customer satisfaction, shortens check-in time, conserves resources, and predicts incoming workload.

The second project, GreenTech, addressed challenges facing the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and developed an advanced smart greenhouse system based on Internet of Things (IoT) and machine learning . The project generates sustainable resources through solar and renewable electricity, as well as water from humidity, enabling farmers to implement a smarter irrigation system that contributes to Bahrain’s food security by producing higher quality and lower cost production crops.
