Bahrain: POS transactions in August amounted to BD 186.2 million

Seven man racket jailed for credit card forgeryThe total value of Point of Sale (POS) transactions via credit and debit cards recorded in August amounted to 186.2 million, a decrease of 5.2% compared to about 196.5 million dinars last July, and recorded a decrease on an annual basis by 6.1% compared to 198.3 million dinars in August 2019.The top 5 sectors represented 56.9% of the transactions, with a value of 106 million dinars, as the government services came on top of them in terms of the value of registered operations with a value of 50.3 million dinars, while shops came on the second with 20.60 million dinars, supermarket markets were third with 13.9 million dinars, health services with 11.8 million dinars, and finally restaurants, with 9.4 million dinars.The statistics
