Cricket: Riyaan wins a thriller – Gulf Digital News
INDIAN Ahmed Riyaan was taken the distance by his opponent Zayn Siddiqui of Pakistan in the U18 Unisex Singles final of the Bahrain Tennis Club’s Juniors Tennis Tournament.
Riyaan finally managed a 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 10-6 victory in a 2-hour-20-minute battle at the BTC courts.
In the U12 Boys Singles final between two Indians Atif Saquib beat Rion Jay 6-4 6-0. Atif had to scrap every opportunity in order to break Rion’s steady returns in the first set. After the first set Atif was able to solve Rion’s game style.
Following the matches, sports committee head Salah Al Najjar, and the club’s executive director Hamdi Abdul Jawad, presented trophies, medals and vouchers.
