F1: Bahrain racer set for IAME karting event – Gulf Digital News

Bahrain-based motor racing talent Lewis Smith is set to compete in one of the region’s leading karting championships over the next several weeks.

The up-and-coming 16-year-old Briton, who is being supported by global technology solution giants JBT Corporation, will be showcasing his prowess in both rounds of the widely popular IAME Summer Series, taking place at the RAK Track at Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE.

The IAME Summer Series is a premier karting championship that is held annually under the umbrella of the IAME Series, with racers coming from all over the world to be a part of the action.

Lewis will be contesting both rounds of this year’s IAME Summer Series, beginning with this coming weekend on Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22, and then again on June 11 and 12.

He will be racing in the Senior/Master class, which is the highest level in the championship.

Commenting ahead of his participation, Lewis said: “I am greatly looking forward to racing in an IAME Series event once again.

“I’ve competed there a few times in the past, and it has always been a very challenging championship from which I can continue my development.
