GULFWEEKLY: The 14th edition of the three week-long Bahrain Summer Festival kicks off this week with a line-up of musical and educational activities.

The festival will kick off with a musical evening featuring three rising Bahraini stars, Mohammad Al Najjar, Haya Al Hamad and Layan Al Hamad. Mohammad has won a number of music awards, performing shows across the United Kingdom, where he is studying piano and composition. Haya and Layan most recently opened the award ceremony for the Unesco King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa Prize for the Use of ICT in Education. The three young musicians will be performing classical music at this event.

The ‘most outrageous live science’ show is back, revamped and better than ever, with captivating high-energy experiments. Brainiac Live is taking the stage for the very first time in Bahrain and children, aged six and above, can enjoy and learn as these science adventurers leap with courage and curiosity from the safety of their seats.

A workshop focusing on freehand sketching techniques using perspectives in Bahraini heritage interior and architectural spaces will give participants, aged 15 and above, a chance to learn conceptual sketching that emphasises
