Raytheon Technologies Leverages Merger Synergies To Mount Bid For FAA Network Transformation

The Federal Aviation Administration has begun the next phase of national airspace modernization with an ambitious project to transform its information systems and networks.



The project is called the FAA Enterprise Network Services (FENS), and it would replace a telecommunications system that the agency has been relying on for 20 years.



FENS is the cornerstone of future airspace modernization, the information framework required to implement digital integration of an aviation ecosystem that covers five million square miles of domestic airspace and an additional 24 million square miles of oceanic airspace.
