Oman’s role in digital economy highlighted at DCO General Assembly



MANAMA: The General Assembly of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) on Wednesday reviewed the Sultanate of Oman’s efforts in the field of digital economy.This came during the DCO General Assembly’s 3rd meeting held in Manama, the Kingdom of Bahrain.The Sultanate of Oman was represented during the meeting by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology. The delegation was headed by Eng Said bin Hamoud al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.During the meeting, Oman was re-selected as a member in the executive committee of the DCO. Oman will be represented in the committee by Dr Ali bin Amer al Shidhani, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.Moreover, the meeting discussed developments pertaining to programmes and projects implemented by the organisation during 2023. It also highlighted new projects for the coming period.The DCO implemented several projects and initiatives with the Sultanate of Oman in the fields of data governance, e-taxes, measuring the maturity of digital economy and attracting direct foreign investment (FDI), among other fields. - ONA
