CCQ hosts engineering technology advisory board meet – The Peninsula

Doha: The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) yesterday hosted the first meeting of the Advisory Board for the Engineering Technology Programs.

The meeting was attended by Brigadier General Hamad Salmeen Al Jabri, from the Ministry of Defence; Eng. Abdulaziz Ahmad Al Mahmoud, Director of Production Planning and Water Resources at the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa); Eng. Abdulrahman Al Zahed, Maintenance Manager at Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO); Abdulla Al Mannai, Director of the Meteorology Department at the Civil Aviation Authority, and Abeer Faleh Al Hajri, Director of Information Systems Department at the Public Works Authority (Ashghal).

The meeting started with a speech by Dr. Mariam Al Hammadi, Vice-President of CCQ. She welcomed the board members and explained the important role of advisory boards in developing the academic programmes and curricula offered by the college and evaluating the compatibility of learning outcomes for academic programmes with employment needs in the labour market.

Dr. Khawla Al Zoubi, Head of the Technology Engineering Department at CCQ, gave a detailed presentation on the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology and the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology programmes, including the study plans and statistical data on the number of students, graduates, and faculty
