Invention, innovation at heart of D’reesha performing arts festival – The Peninsula

Doha: The second edition of the D’reesha Performing Arts Festival, taking place during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, is set to include a dedicated invention and innovation component, which — through art, music, and astronomy — will help bring science to life.

The STEAM-focused addition, titled D’reesha of Invention and Innovation, will allow visitors to conduct experiments and participate in hands-on workshops, all while learning about various scientists, scholars, and researchers from the region and their contributions to the world.

“QF’s D’reesha Performing Arts Festival reflects the belief that learning does not just take place within the four walls of the classroom, and that creative, innovative, and diverse forms of education can further empower children and young people,” said , Community Arts Lead at QF.

“D’reesha of Invention and Innovation will encourage children and their families to engage with Steam activities in a fun, meaningful, and tangible way, inspiring them to explore their curiosity while helping to fuel a lifelong pursuit of learning.

“And this year, as the country welcomes visitors from all over the globe for the World Cup, we will be able to showcase how Education City, through this festival, is a hub of knowledge that inspires learning, discovery, and exploration.”
