Ooredoo theme winners at QBIC Hackathon 2022 selected – The Peninsula

The QBIC Hackathon 2022 consisted of four themes – one of which was Ooredoo’s Digital Solutions Beyond 2022 Legacy theme – attracting some 200 applications.

Doha: Ooredoo, Qatar’s leading ICT provider and a staunch investor in innovation, has announced that the winners of its theme at the QBIC Hackathon 2022 have been confirmed.

The QBIC Hackathon 2022 consisted of four themes – one of which was Ooredoo’s Digital Solutions Beyond 2022 Legacy theme – attracting some 200 applications.

Ooredoo’s theme saw 35 teams apply, with 16 being accepted and 13 pitching. Three winners each walked away with a QR25,000 grant, company establishment from Qatar Financial Centre, a year’s free office space from QBIC and direct access to the QBIC Incubation Programme.

The winners of Ooredoo’s Digital Solutions Beyond 2022 Legacy theme were: Autismo Lab, an XR platform simulating different scenarios to enable those with autism to become familiar with new environments; Aligator, a centralised delivery management platform for restaurants that unifies orders, menus and reports from multiple apps; and NSATech, a smart activation and engagement zone for sport fans using artificial intelligence.

Ooredoo provided the Cumulocity IoT Builder platform for MVP/prototyping; 15 coaches from Ooredoo and partner companies; 6 judges for the Digital Solutions jury
