UAE: UAE-Kuwait also withdraw envoys from Lebanon – Gulf Digital News
LEBANON’S rift with the GCC states widened yesterday with Kuwait giving the country’s ambassador 48 hours to leave the country and the UAE saying it will withdraw all its diplomats and banned its citizens from travelling there.
The action by Kuwait and the UAE follows Bahrain and Saudi Arabia expelling Lebanon’s envoy on Friday and banning all Lebanese imports over mounting tensions following critical comments by a Lebanese minister about the Saudi-led military intervention in Yemen.
Oman last night expressed regret over the worsening relations and called on all parties to exercise restraint and avoid escalation.
