Expo City Dubai announces ‘grandest’ parade for Chinese New Year after 2-year hiatus

For the first time, floats will form part of the carnival that will also showcase tradition, culture and high-tech products

With the Chinese New Year around the corner, the Dubai 'Happy Chinese New Year' grand parade is getting ready to be back in the UAE since the two-year long pandemic triggered interruption.

A vast majority of Chinese expats in Dubai are looking forward to the return of this year’s Grand Parade whic will see the participation of over 2,500 people at Expo City Dubai on January 14, from 4pm onwards.

The grand parade that had been successfully held in City Walk three times before the pandemic, has even twice witnessed the attendance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The carnival will see 60 parade formats and 20 floats that aim to showcase a synergy of tradition and modernity, an amalgamation of culture and entertainment, with the occasion being hailed as the grandest event to celebrate the Chinese New Year for overseas Chinese.
