Khouri acknowledges the time-consuming nature of fundraising, “A major hurdle for start-ups is securing funding,” he says. “It dilutes the start-ups’ energy, and takes a lot of their time, distracting them from staying focused on running their business.” Limited track records and unproven models further complicate the issue, creating a “daily dilemma” for founders who must choose between chasing funding and core business activities, he says.
