UAE: Impatient Kerala man flies to Dubai to buy new iPhone few hours early than India release – Gulf Digital News
An Indian man flew all the way from Kerala to Dubai so that he could be one of the first people to buy the new iPhone 14.
Dheeraj Palliyil, 28, spent $500 on flight tickets and then $999 on the newest model of the iPhone 14 Pro.
And this isn't even the first time he has taken this journey to buy the newest Apple models. Mr Palliyil first took the journey in 2017, followed by trips in 2019 and 2021.
Mr Palliyil says he "didn't want to wait" to get the new iPhone.
"During previous iPhone launches, the phone would usually release in India 10-15 days after its sale abroad.
This time, however, the India sale was to begin just a few hours later, but it has become my ritual now to buy the latest phone in Dubai," he says.
Mr Palliyil bought the new iPhone from a shopping mall in Dubai on September 16.
