The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) pays tribute to the artistic legacy of Bahraini artist Asghar Ismail, as the Arts Center proudly presents his solo exhibition titled “Sixty Years in the Studio.”
The exhibition, which commenced on April 15, offers an immersive journey into Ismail’s extensive artistic career. Running until April 29, the exhibition welcomes visitors daily from 9am until 8pm. It serves as a retrospective of Ismail’s artistic evolution, showcasing a blend of his classic and contemporary works.
Through this visual experience, attendees gain insight into the pivotal moments and transformations that have shaped Ismail’s remarkable career.
Artistic journey
As one of the pioneering figures of the Bahraini art scene, Ismail started his artistic journey in the 1970s. He played a foundational role in the establishment of the “Family of Art Amateurs,” the Kingdom’s first artistic collective.
Ismail’s contributions have significantly influenced Bahrain’s cultural landscape, earning him recognition as a member of esteemed organisations such as the Contemporary Art Society and the Bahrain Fine Arts Society.
