Emirates operates regular A380 service to Bahrain for first time

Is bringing back one more A380 to the skies, and this time the superjumbo is flying much closer to home. The UAE-based carrier said Thursday it has decided to deploy the world's largest passenger plane to serve travellers flying between the UAE and Bahrain starting this month. The Emirates A380 can accommodate 507 passengers in a three-class configuration, with 417 seats in economy, 76 fully flat-bed seats in business class and 14 first class private suites. The long-haul operator grounded its entire A380 fleet at the onset of the coronavirus pandemic last year, when borders shut down and air traffic plummeted to about 90 percent. Since the easing of restrictions, the airline has so far redeployed the aircraft to at least ten destinations, including New York JFK, Paris, Jeddah, Amman, Cairo, Frankfurt, Bangkok, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Moscow. By July, the airline will also deploy the double-decker to Los Angeles. The airline's president, Tim Clark, had said he's "hoping“ Emirates would be able to get all the A380s flying again by April 2022. In a statement, Emirates said that its Bahrain flight EK839/840, previously operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, has already been upgraded to A380. This marks the first time
