‘Very proud’ Filipino-Americans in Bahrain celebrate Heritage Month | THE DAILY TRIBUNE | KINGDOM OF BAHRAIN

Around 50 participants came together to celebrate the Heritage Month held on 31 October at the US Naval Base in Juffair. Filipino-American Association of Bahrain president, US Navy Captain Ernan Obellos, delivered a welcome remark during a lunch gathering for the active and retired members of the US Navy with their families and friends.

Captain Obellos highlighted the importance of the event and thanked all the guests for joining the celebration to honour the heritage and culture of Filipino Americans and their great contributions to the world.

“The event was organised to show that we are very proud Filipino-Americans and members of US Navy, and proud of our Filipino heritage,” he said. Philippine Embassy official, Charge de Affaires Anne Jalondo-on Louis, who was the guest speaker, conveyed her gratitude to the Filipino-American Bahrain for actively working and on high level of engagement in supporting the plight of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Bahrain. Consul Jess Bryan Baguio and his wife were also present to grace the affair.
