KUWAIT CITY, Aug 24, (Agencies): The Director-General of the Directorate- General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Yousef Al-Fawzan has called on the Cabinet to increase the passenger capacity for inbound commercial flights at the Kuwait International Airport, reports Al-Rai daily. In a letter addressed to the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, he said, due to the decision of the Council of Ministers to allow direct flights to Kuwait from several countries in accordance with health requirements issued in this regard, kindly allow an increase in the passenger capacity for incoming flights at the Kuwait International Airport.

Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation clarified on its twitter account that it is still in the stage of preparing plans to operate from countries (India, Egypt, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka) that were recently approved by the Council of Ministers. The official announcement for passengers will be made once the plans to operate with these countries are completed. The dates of operating commercial flights with India and Egypt have not been determined yet. Director of the Air Transport Department, Abdullah Fadous Al-Rajhi stated that no airlines has yet been authorized to operate from these countries.
