CAIRO – 10 March 2021: Egypt reviewed, during its participation in the Berlin Tourist Stock Exchange, the impact of new archaeological discoveries on inbound tourism.

This came during the participation of Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Egyptian Tourism Affairs Ghada Shalaby in a dialogue session, on Tuesday, entitled "Destinations Management Forum and Thought Leaders", on the sidelines of the Berlin Tourism Exchange - which is scheduled to last until March 12.

Shalaby indicated that the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities broadcast a number of videos about these archaeological discoveries and the new museums that were opened during 2020, as well as launching a number of virtual tours to some museums and archaeological sites through the official pages of the ministry on the Internet.

During the session, the Deputy Minister discussed the precautionary measures and health safety controls applied in tourist and hotel facilities, museums and archaeological sites to ensure safe travel to Egyptian tourist destinations.

She emphasized the close cooperation between the Ministries of Tourism and Antiquities, Health and Population, and business partners from the private tourism sector to contain the impact of the coronavirus pandemic
