EgyptAir to operate last flight from Cairo to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday before travel ban

EgyptAir Airlines CEO Amr Abu El-Enein announced Tuesday that the last flight from Cairo to Saudi Arabia will be at 3 PM Cairo local time on Wednesday as Saudi Arabia imposed a temporary ban of entry from 20 countries including Egypt effective from February 3.

In a statement to "The Last Word“ news night TV show on ONTV, Abu El-Enein said that there are currently talks to push forward one more flight to Riyadh, but it has not been confirmed yet.

In a statement issued late on Tuesday, EgyptAir said it will continue to operate flights from Saudi Arabia to Egypt to transport Egyptians and other nationalities during the suspension period.

On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia suspended entry to the kingdom from 20 countries, except for diplomats, Saudi citizens, medical practitioners and their families, to help curb the spread of the coronavirus, the state news agency reported.

The temporary ban includes people arriving from the United Arab Emirates, Germany, the United States, Britain, South Africa, France, Egypt, Lebanon, India and Pakistan.

According to Abu El-Anein, EgyptAir got daily flights with Mecca, Al-Madina, Riyadh, Dammam and Al-Qassim
