Shops, booths in heritage village; Support for Kuwaiti youths – ARAB TIMES – KUWAIT NEWS – Arab Times Kuwait News

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 9: The Ministry of Information has informed the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Development about its plan to allocate 20 shops and 15 booths in Yom Al-Bahar heritage village to the owners of SMEs who obtained a loan from the fund, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources who clarified that this is part of the government’s efforts to support Kuwaiti youths.

Sources confirmed the ministry has started taking the necessary steps to revive the village after a hiatus of several years. The ministry floated five tenders for those interested in investing in the village, which will serve as a recreational and entertainment facility for families, sources added. Sources said the ministry has yet to specify the rental fees for the shops, but it is expected that the rent will be nominal and for a period of up to one year as a way of supporting SMEs. On the other hand, sources confirmed that 22 spots on Jaber Bridge islands have been allocated for mobile vehicles that are financed by the fund or others; in addition to 40 booths.
