Frankincense season programme to begin on July 2

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism will organize the second edition of the frankincense season programme at various sites in the Governorate of Dhofar during the period from 2-9 December 2023.The week-long programme will be hosted by three frankincense sites: Al Baleed and Sumharam archaeological parks and the Wadi Doka Natural Reserve.Khalid Abdullah Al Abri, Director General of Heritage and Tourism in Dhofar Governorate, told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the activities of the frankincense season aim to enhance the flow of tourists in the governorate and sustain the momentum throughout the year.The programme will offer tourists, nature lovers, innovators and researchers a memorable experience as they explore and document frankincense uses in the past and present.The event includes exhibitions of frankincense-based perfumes and products, stalls for showcasing exhibits of household industries, products of specialized companies and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurial projects carried out by university students.
