Oman’s tourism sector thrives with growing workforce and SMEs

The tourism sector in Oman has witnessed a commendable surge in employment, with the total number of employees soaring to 179,750 as of October 2023.

The landscape also boasts a substantial presence of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), totalling 23,979 establishments, with 4,751 entities operating under the purview of Riyada.

A concerted effort spearheaded by multiple collaborative programs involving both government and private sectors aims to further bolster the tourism industry’s national workforce.

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism’s concerted efforts in partnership with various governmental and private entities are underpinning this momentum.

The enactment of the new tourism law, Royal Decree No. 69/2023, plays a pivotal role in streamlining and regulating investment processes, ultimately steering the creation of fresh job prospects for Omanis.
