Pact inked to develop artificial lake in Buraimi

Buraimi Governor's Office has initiated a significant tourism development project by signing an investment agreement for an artificial lake in the wilayat of Buraimi.Muscat – Buraimi Governor’s Office has initiated a significant tourism development project by signing an investment agreement for an artificial lake in the wilayat of Buraimi. 

The agreement was signed by Dr Hamad bin Ahmed al Busaidi, Governor of Buraimi, and Khalid al Farsi, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Al Buraimi Development and Investment Company, on Thursday.

Elaborating on the agreement’s provisions, Musa bin Saeed al Abri, Director General of Buraimi Municipality, informed that Al Buraimi Development and Investment Company will undertake operations of the artificial lake, alongside management of a floating restaurant, a water park and various other retail outlets surrounding the lake over a 25-year period.

The agreement aims to foster financial sustainability in the governorate, attracting investors, boosting employment opportunities, and paving the way for the involvement of small and medium enterprises, Abri added. 

He emphasised the agreement’s role in enhancing the tourism sector and collaborations with the private sector for optimal economic outcomes. “This initiative is poised to transform the governorate into a vibrant tourist destination, reinforcing Buraimi’s commitment to sustainable and inclusive economic growth.”
