H.E. Salim Mohammed al Mahrouqi, the Minister of Heritage and Tourism for Oman, addressed the impact of regional instability on tourism during the opening of the 50th UNWTO Regional Commission for the Middle East.

“We hope, God willing, that stability will prevail and thus there will be fair opportunities for everyone to build this sector in accordance with the best international practices,” he told reporters.

The Minister’s remarks came on the sidelines of the conference, which focused on ‘Investing in Tourism: Opportunities and Challenges in Sustainable Financing.’ The conference agenda includes discussions on intra-regional tourism, promoting collaboration among Middle Eastern countries.

The conference underscores Oman’s commitment to fostering regional collaboration and advancing sustainable tourism practices.
