Planning to travel abroad for treatment? Health Ministry announces requirements | Times of Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced requirements and procedures for patients seeking treatment abroad.

The Department of Treatment Abroad Affairs at the Ministry of Health announced that the ways of receiving citizens’ requests for treatment abroad have been specified only via e-mail: :[email protected] or via WhatsApp on at 24946385.

"It is required that the patient sends the application clearly including the following attachments in order for it to be presented to the National Committee for Treatment Abroad for study and decision:

1) The application letter must indicate the ID number and contact numbers of the application.

2) It must include a recent medical report from a government hospital in the Sultanate of Oman (the date of its issuance does not exceed the last six months).

3) Recommendation of a medical report from the patient's attending physician that treatment is not available in government hospitals," MOH said.

MOH added that after presenting the application to the National Committee for Treatment Abroad, within two working weeks, the patient will be informed of the committee’s decision by e-mail or via a text message via WhatsApp on the numbers attached to the application.
