Hotels register solid growth in occupancy rates and revenues – The Peninsula

Doha: Hotels in Qatar registered solid growth in occupancy rates and revenues in July 2022 as the country saw an increase in visitors and guests. The hospitality sector in the country is bound to witness a surge in demand fueled by initiatives taken by the government and the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The two- and one-star hotels have recorded the highest occupancy rate in July this year as it surged to 90 percent against 72 percent in the same period last year, according to the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) data.

The hotel and hotel apartments in Qatar witnessed a robust performance with the overall occupancy rate being at 55 percent in July 2022. Among the hotels, three star hotels occupancy rate jumped to 85 percent in July 2022 from 81 percent in the same period in 2021.

According to the report, the occupancy rate of four star hotels stood at 60 percent in July 2022. Similarly, in case of five star, the hotels’ occupancy rates stood at 53 percent in the review period. The occupancy rates of deluxe hotel apartments and standard hotel apartments for July this year stood at 49 percent and 78 percent respectively.
