Qatar Chamber’s tourism committee discusses challenges in hotel sector

The Tourism and Exhibitions Committee of Qatar Chamber held its first meeting for the new session with several owners and managers of hotels and tourist resorts in the country.Qatar Chamber board member Sheikh Hamad bin Ahmed bin Abdulla al-Thani presided over the meeting wherein he thanked Qatar Tourism chairman Saad bin Ali al-Kharji for his efforts to support the tourism sector and his interest in addressing the challenges facing the industry.The meeting reviewed the most important developments and directions of the authorities concerned to develop and revitalise the country’s tourism sector during the coming period.The committee also discussed the most important challenges facing the tourism sector, particularly in the hotel sector. They examined ways to tackle these issues and refer them to the appropriate authorities for solutions.The committee stressed the need to present more plans to develop the tourism sector considering that the private and government sectors are partners in the future development of the industry.At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed to prepare a questionnaire by the
