Tourism Malaysia holds roadshow – The Peninsula

Doha: Tourism Malaysia last week launched a roadshow in Qatar which brought together a number of travel agents, hoteliers, product owners, state tourism bodies and medical tourism industry players from both countries.

The event looked to enhance and develop new partnerships in tourism, hotel, and medical industries.

The Doha event was part of Tourism Malaysia’s Western Asia region series of roadshows. Travel mart sessions and networking dinners were conducted after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19.

Tourism Malaysia Director-General, Dato’ Zainuddin Abdul Wahab said, “As we welcome more West Asia travellers back to Malaysia, it is a timely occasion to strengthen our partnership with international airlines such as Qatar Airways, Oman Air and Mahan Air, which offer direct flights to Kuala Lumpur.”

Qatar Airways and Malaysia Airlines unveiled last week its roadmap outlining the next phase of their strategic partnership which adds 34 destinations to the existing 62 codeshare destinations. Starting May 25, Malaysia Airlines will have a non-stop service from Kuala Lumpur to Doha.
