KSA: Saudi urges citizens, residents to avoid unnecessary travel, citing Omicron variant – Gulf Digital News

Saudi has urged its citizens and residents to avoid unnecessary travel outside the kingdom, especially to high-risk countries.

The travel advisory was announced by the country's health authority, Weqaya, due to concerns over the rising number of Covid-19 cases and spread brought on by the Omicron variant, SPA reported.

Citizens or residents coming from outside the country, have also been advised to avoid social contact for at least five days and take a Covid PCR test in the event of respiratory symptoms or if there is a rise in body temperature.

The rules apply to everyone, regardless of their vaccination status, it added.
