Etihad to suspend flights between Abu Dhabi and Morocco

UAE carrier Etihad has said that it will suspend flights between Abu Dhabi and Morocco starting Tuesday, November 30, for a period of two weeks. It said that the decision was based on Moroccan Government directives in response to the precautionary measures arising from the newly identified Omicron variant of Covid-19. The airline said that Etihad is working closely with impacted guests to notify them of the changes to their itineraries. Other UAE carriers have already curbed flights to certain countries. Dubai-based Emirates, effective November 27, 2021, and until further notice, suspended passenger operations to and from South Africa (Johannesburg, Durban Cape Town), Zimbabwe (Harare) and Zambia (Lusaka). As directed by the Dubai Covid 19 Command and Control Centre (CCC), all travellers originating from or transiting via seven African countries will not be accepted for travel into Dubai with effect from Monday, November 29 until further notice. The countries include: Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
