The official announcement on visa rule changes were published in the Turkish Official Gazette.

It comes as the GCC and Turkey are looking to boost economic and trade ties.

Last month Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi said the leaders of the GCC countries are keen to strengthen economic cooperation with Turkey, based on the depth of brotherly relations between the two sides.

The trade exchange between the GCC countries and Türkiye amounted to $22bn in 2021, he said.
