Bahraini families stranded in Georgia airport seek help | THE DAILY TRIBUNE | KINGDOM OF BAHRAIN

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received a request from two Bahraini families stuck at Kutaisi International Airport in Georgia to end their ordeal and make arrangements for their safe return to Bahrain. A member of one of the stranded families, Muhammad Abdullah, spoke to our sister paper Al Ayam about the tough situation they had to face in a foreign land. “Concluding our trip to Georgia, we went to the international airport in Kutaisi to catch a flight for Abu Dhabi, which is the transit before flying to Bahrain. We were really shocked to know that the flight had been cancelled hours before the scheduled take off time. “We approached the flight’s counter and explained our ordeal to them. However, their response was a thunderbolt to us. “They gave us three options: return by booking new tickets of other airlines or travel to a different nation at our own expense and book a different flight back home from there, or wait there for 10 days for the departure.” Muhammad added, “We informed them that hardly we possessed the money or other resources to stay there for longer periods and the group comprised 13 individuals belonging to two Bahraini families.
