Newly built airport terminal will be operational from January, 28th
Muharraq: Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), airport's operator and managing body, on Wednesday announced that Airport operations will be transferred to Bahrain International Airport's (BIA) new passenger terminal on January, 28th, 2021.
The transfer to the state-of-the-art facility is a major step towards achieving the Kingdom's ambitious Economic Vision 2030 diversification and sustainability goals of developing its position as a financial, cultural, and aviation centre in the region. The new terminal is one of the most important components of the US$1.1 billion Airport Modernization Programme, which is designed to enhance the airport's strategic position, stimulate national economic growth, and drive investment into the Kingdom, in line with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030.
His Excellency the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and BAC Chairman, Eng. Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed emphasized that the launch of the new terminal will be a major contributor to trade, supporting the growth tourism and travel for decades to come.
