EgyptAir resumes flights to Oman and from Saudi Arabia

EgyptAir, the national flag carrier, said it is resuming flights to Oman on Monday and will operate a number of flights from Saudi Arabia to Cairo starting Tuesday.

Last week, EgyptAir announced the suspension of flights to and from Oman and Saudi Arabia for a week after Saudi and Omani authorities decided to close their borders over fears regarding a new coronavirus strain.

"In light of the instructions issued by the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation regarding enabling the operation of a number of flights departing from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, EgyptAir announces starting the operation of a number of flights from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Cairo,“ an EgyptAir statement read on Monday.

The statement added that the flights from Saudi Arabia to Cairo will be operated in accordance with the regulations issued by the relevant Saudi authorities.

EgyptAir called on passengers travelling from any of the two destinations to present a negative PCR test result, 72 hours before the arrival date at most.

The Egyptian flag carrier also requested travellers to secure an international health insurance policy covering illness from COVID-19 for a month.
