On the eve of launching a redesigned version of the best selling nameplate in America, Ford CEO Jim Hackett spoke with Forbes about the philosophy driving the development of new products like the F-150 and Mustang Mach-E. 



In the three years that Hackett has been CEO in Dearborn, one of the comments that often comes up when outsiders speak with him is that he tends to express big, somewhat abstract ideas where the meaning isn't entirely clear.
