Ammon News - Captain Haitham Misto, Chief Commissioner of the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), said on Sunday that passenger traffic achieved an 18% growth in the number of passengers arriving and departing from the Kingdom's three airports, reaching 9.53 million passengers during the year 2023 compared to 8.08 million arriving and departing passengers for the same period in 2022, with a growth rate reached 3%, over the year 2019, that is, before the Corona pandemic. Thus, Jordanian airports achieved a record number of passengers, as they carried out 86,000 flights carried out by national and foreign airlines during the year 2023, linking the Kingdom with 81 international destinations with direct flights, Misto added. The number of passengers was distributed among the three airports during the year 2023, bringing the share of Queen Alia International Airport to 97% of the total operation with 9.5 million passengers.As for King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba, the number of passengers reached 309,000 arriving and departing passengers, including 109,000 passengers who moved between Amman and Aqaba.The number of passengers arriving and departing from Amman Civil Airport reached 10,435 passengers on board
