How will flights be impacted by Russia-Ukraine conflict? Civil Aviation Authority explains – Roya News English

The head of the Jordanian Civil Aviation Authority, Captain Haitham Mesto, said Saturday that the Russian invasion of Ukraine will have an impact on global flight paths. 

Misto said that when planning flights, airlines choose the shortest paths to reduce operating costs. With the closure of some airspaces due to the current crisis, some flight times have become longer, and flight paths have become less available. 

Regarding the flights between Jordan and Russia, and Jordan and Ukraine, Misto said that there were only charter flights between Jordan and Russia, and there was one weekly flight from Ukraine to Jordan, which was stopped due to the crisis.
