Solution to traffic crisis is not expansion of roads: expert – Roya News English

Sector of the Department of Transport Operations in the Amman Municipality, Engineer Khaled Al-Olaimat, spoke Saturday to Roya's Nabd al Balad about the traffic situation in Amman. 

He said as public transport accounts for 13 percent of road use, the solution to the traffic crisis in Amman is not in the construction of bridges and the expansion of roads, but in strengthening the public transport system. 

In turn, Hazem Zureikat, a consultant in the field of transport and traffic, said that the traffic crisis is caused by the transportation crisis and a lack of viable infrastructure, pointing out that the environment in Jordan encourages the use of private cars.
