Dhahirah inks pact to support jobseekers

Muscat – Dhahirah and the National Employment Programme (NEP) have entered into an agreement to train and qualify jobseekers and facilitate job opportunities across various sectors in the governorate.

The agreement, signed by Najeeb bin Ali al Rawas, Governor of Dhahirah, and Al Azhar bin Ahmed al Kindi, Technical Director of National Employment Programme, aims to equip national cadres with skills, and connect them with employment prospects in the developmental sectors encompassing the economy, tourism, agriculture, food and logistics.

Additionally, the agreement will facilitate scientific studies pertaining to economic opportunities, particularly in value chain analysis related to diverse sectors of Dhahirah governorate.

The agreement also seeks to enhance the tourism and heritage sector by conducting specialised training courses for local residents to be tour guides and establish and manage specialised camps in the governorate.

According to Rawas, the agreement will provide sustainable solutions for jobseekers, addressing current and future challenges in the employment sector.

“Dhahirah is committed to supporting the initiatives of the National Employment Programme and ensuring the people of the governorate benefit from this collaboration,” he said.

This partnership will empower jobseekers, equip them with valuable skills and create meaningful employment opportunities in the governorate, while contributing to its economic growth and development.
