Enhancing Oman’s air connectivity: National Aviation Strategy unveiled

This was stated by Naif bin Ali al Abri, Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority, at a workshop organised by CAA on Monday for ministers and top officials to discuss preliminary findings of the National Aviation Strategy 2040 project.

The workshop focused on three main areas, including objectives of the National Aviation Strategy 2040, its principles and initial outcomes, in addition to feedback and guidance.

Abri emphasised that the strategy is set to reinforce Oman’s strategic air position, leveraging its geographical advantage as a link between East and West. A significant focus of the strategy is augmentation of air cargo facilities at Muscat and Salalah airports, which are envisioned to become pivotal hubs in the region.

The strategy is a collaborative endeavour with inputs from approximately 60 entities, reflecting a nationwide effort to elevate the aviation sector.
