Explore Oman virtually through Google Street View soon

Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has joined forces with Google to introduce Google Street View across Oman.Muscat – The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has joined forces with Google to introduce Google Street View across Oman.

The project, under the guidance of National Survey Authority and Ministry of Defence, aims to map the sultanate’s roads and cities, offering panoramic imagery to users globally.

Google Street View, known for immersive 360° views, will enable virtual exploration of Oman’s main roads and landmarks, allowing users to navigate and discover the country’s rich cultural and natural heritage from anywhere in the world.

Survey and mapping to implement the project is set to continue till 2025 in two phases. The initial phase will focus on key cities, including Muscat, Suhar and Salalah, while the second phase will cover other wilayats across the sultanate.

This tech venture is poised to revolutionise the way people plan trips and visits, offering a virtual window to Oman’s tourist attractions and landmarks. Explore Oman virtually through Google Street View soon
